Botetourt County is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The county seat is Fincastle. The County is part of the Roanoke, VA Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Botetourt County is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors. The Board is elected by the citizens of the county and is responsible for setting policy and enacting laws.

The county is also served by a Constitutional Officer, the Sheriff, who is elected by the citizens of the county. The Sheriff is responsible for law enforcement and the operation of the county jail.
