Chambers County is located in the east-central part of the U.S. state of Alabama. Its county seat is LaFayette. Chambers County is included in the Valley, AL Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The county has a total area of 648 square miles, of which 644 square miles is land and 4.9 square miles (0.8%) is water. Major bodies of water include West Point Lake, Lake Harding and Lake Wedowee.

Chambers County is governed by a five-member county commission, with one commissioner elected from each of the five districts in the county. The county commission is responsible for setting policy, levying taxes, and making appropriations. The county is also served by a sheriff, district attorney, probate judge, circuit court judge, and other elected officials.
