The state of Ohio is able to maximize its resources in a joint effort with law enforcement, criminal justice and other public agencies working together when a child is reported missing. The Ohio Attorney General is responsible for the Ohio Missing Children's Clearinghouse, which provides a search database to locate children missing from Ohio. This agency also offers a variety of support programs and information for parents and guardians. The Ohio Amber Plan is a program designed to utilize the resources of law enforcement and media to notify the public when children are kidnapped. The Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is a collaboration of city, county, state and federal law enforcement authorities to prosecute individuals who prey on children via the internet. The program is a federal anti-crime initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Also available on the Internet are multiple search databases, websites which offer lists, photos, details of children currently missing in Ohio, and information regarding child safety, child identification and abduction prevention.
